The rush is on – North to Montana!

Since we became boat and waterski enthusiasts in Colorado, the logical place to move to was Helena, as it sits alongside the Missouri River, which is conveniently dammed making three lakes.  We settled into new jobs and lived just off the shore of Hauser Lake and enjoyed the serene views, the excitement of lake living, and a simpler way of life.  I loved running the dirt roads above the lake, continued training for a triathlon, and connected with old friends.

Not long after getting settled, we welcomed a baby boy in 2003.  Given the nature of my pelvic injuries, it’s a miracle I could carry a baby full-term, let alone deliver one!  He was a C-section baby and I nearly died delivering him (kidney failure, gestational diabetes, blood pressure plummeting…) but he was worth every minute of disaster.

After having him, I planned on staying home for an undetermined amount of time but an opportunity fell into my lap around the time he turned nine months old.  I took the job and went to work for a pharmaceutical wholesaler, McKesson, covering half the state of Montana.  I was back in a sales territory, but this time in my home state of Montana!

Loved my job and being a mom but my health was starting to deteriorate.  I started having constant sinus infections, major fibroid issues, and began having concerns that something was really wrong.  I started seeing a primary care physician and was in the office OFTEN for a quick check-up to get yet another Z-pak to fight my chronic sinus issues.  My body eventually became immune to the antibiotic, and I was sick.  All the time.  Sick.  I ended up getting a hysterectomy to solve the fibroid issues and hopefully get my life back to some degree.  However, it didn’t solve all the issues.  I began searching for help, outside the scope of antibiotics.  Luckily I was introduced to a wonderful healer and started down a new path of discovery. From the start of our conversations, ‘heavy metals’ were always part of my problem but I didn’t know exactly what that meant or to what extent the issues were or how to 100% resolve them.

It would take another 14 years for me to really grasp the severity of my issues as the list of symptoms and struggles multiplied over time. I spent hours researching my health issues, hundreds of dollars on doctor and naturopathic visits, had two root canals with crowns, one implant, had a few amalgam fillings removed (erroneously) and spent loads on supplements.  I’m sure by this point I had invested over $50,000 just searching for the magic bullet to improving my health.
